NFL Week 13 – Bengals vs Buccaneers Free Pick

I’m 2-4 in my NFL picks this season. I look to start a new correct streak with Sunday’s AFC-NFC match-up between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Cincinnati Bengals (7-3-1) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-9)

Overview – The Cincinnati Bengals have won 2 straight games and are on top of the AFC North. Last Sunday they came away with a 22-13 win at Houston. Quarterback Andy Dalton was 24 of 35 for 233 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Running back Jeremy Hill carried the ball 18 times for 87 yards and a score. Running back Giovani Bernard ran 17 times for 45 yards. Wide receiver A.J. Green had 12 receptions for 121 yards. Receiver Mohamed Sanu caught 5 balls for 48 yards and a touchdown. The Bengals out-gained the Texans in total yards 372-248. The defense intercepted Texans QB Ryan Mallett one time. Linebacker Vincent Rey led the team in total tackles with 10. Defensive end Carlos Dunlap had 5 total tackles with 1 sack. On the season Dalton is completing 62.4% of his passes for 2,413 yards with 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Hill has 643 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns. Sanu has 49 receptions for 719 yards and 5 touchdowns. The Bengals are 2-0-1 versus NFC South opponents. Cincinnati is 3-2 on the road this season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have lost 9 of their first 11 games this season. Last Sunday they were defeated at Chicago 21-13. Quarterback Josh McCown was 25 of 48 for 341 yards with 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Running back Doug Martin had 11 carries for 27 yards. Wide receiver Vincent Jackson had 5 receptions for 117 yards. Receiver Louis Murphy caught 6 balls for 113 yards. Receiver Mike Evans had 3 receptions for 47 yards and a score. The Bucs had a total yards advantage of 367-204. The team turned the ball over 4 times, 2 interceptions and 2 lost fumbles. Tampa Bay scored 10 points in the 2nd quarter and led at halftime 10-0. They allowed the Bears to score 21 points in the 3rd quarter. McCown is completing 60.4% of his passes for 1,350 yards with 7 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. Evans has caught 49 balls for 841 yards and 8 touchdowns in his rookie campaign. The Buccaneers are 1-2 versus AFC North opponents. Tampa Bay is 0-5 at home this season.

Series History – Cincinnati and Tampa Bay last met in week 5 of the 2010 season as the Bucs were victorious 24-21 in Cincinnati.

Prediction – The Bengals can’t afford a slip-up this week with the 3 other AFC North teams all only trailing them by only a half game (all 7-4). The Bucs seem to be playing hard with Lovie Smith as their coach but I don’t think they have enough to get the W this week.

Take the Bengals -3.5 (Bet365)
