Detroit Lions @ Arizona Cardinals Week 11 Betting Pick

I’m 2-2 in my NFL picks on this site. I look for my 3rd correct prediction in a row with today’s match-up of the 2 best records in NFC in the Lions-Cardinals match-up.

Detroit Lions (7-2) @ Arizona Cardinals (8-1)

Overview – The Detroit Lions enter today’s game winners of their last 4 games. Last Sunday they were victorious at home versus the Dolphins 20-16. A Matt Stafford to Theo Riddick touchdown completion was the game-winner with 29 seconds left in the 4th quarter. Quarterback Stafford was 25 of 40 for 280 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Running back Joique Bell rushed 10 times for 44 yards. He also caught 2 balls for 37 yards. Wide receiver Calvin Johnson returned from injury and had 7 receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown. Receiver Golden Tate caught 11 balls for 109 yards. The Lions out-gained the Dolphins in total yards 351-228. The defense had 1 interception and recovered 1 fumble. Linebacker DeAndre Levy led the team with 11 total tackles. The Lions trailed 13-10 after 3 quarters. This season Stafford has completed 61.4% of his passes for 2,496 yards with 13 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.Today is the team’s 1st and only game versus an NFC West division opponent. Detroit is 3-1 on the road this season. The Arizona Cardinals have the NFL’s best record and are on a 5 game winning streak. However, last Sunday in a 31-14 win at home versus the Rams they lost starting quarterback Carson Palmer for the season with an ACL tear in his left knee. Before the injury Palmer was 25 of 36 for 241 yards with no touchdowns and 1 interception. Backup QB Drew Stanton filled in for Palmer and was 3 of 5 for 85 yards and the go-ahead touchdown in the 4th quarter. Running back Andre Ellington carried the ball 18 times for 23 yards and a score. Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald caught 9 balls for 112 yards. Receiver John Brown had 7 receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown. The Cardinals out-gained the Rams in total yards 335-244. The team was down 14-10 after 3 quarters but rallied to score 21 points in the final quarter. The defense intercepted Rams QB Austin Davis 2 times and had 6 sacks. They also recovered 1 fumble. Cornerback Patrick Peterson had 2 interceptions, including one that he returned for a score. On the season Drew Stanton is completing 49.5% of his passes for 614 yards with 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. Today is the team’s 1st and only games versus an NFC North division opponent. Arizona is 5-0 at home this season.

Series History – Last season in week 2 Arizona was victorious at home versus Detroit 25-21. The Cardinals have won the last 5 meetings with the Lions.

Prediction – Losing Palmer is a huge hit to the Cards and although I still think they’ll make the playoffs I can picture the Lions grabbing another last 4th quarter win today. They seem to have a flare for the dramatic this season.

Take the Lions +1 (Bet365)
