Falcons vs Bucs Week 10 Free Pick

I’m 1-2 in my NFL picks on this site. I look for my 2nd correct prediction in a row with Sunday’s Falcons-Bucs match-up.

Atlanta Falcons (2-6) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-7)

Overview – After a 2-1 start the Atlanta Falcons have dropped 5 games in a row. The team is coming off their bye week last week. 2 Sundays ago the Falcons traveled to London for a game with the Lions. The Falcons took a 21-0 lead in to halftime and things looked to going their way, but they were outscored 22-0 in the 2nd half and lost 22-21 on a last second field goal by Lions kicker Matt Prater. Quarterback Matt Ryan was 20 of 27 for 228 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Running back Steven Jackson carried the ball 18 times for 60 yards and a score. Wide receiver Roddy White had 5 receptions for 66 yards. Receiver Julius Jones caught 4 balls for 58 yards. The defense intercepted Detroit QB Matt Stafford 1 time in the game. Atlanta was out-gained in total yards 385-291. The team has given up 22 or more points in their last 5 games. 5 of their 6 losses have been by double digits. On the season Ryan is completing 64.9% of his passes for 2,306 yards with 15 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. Atlanta is 2-0 versus NFC South opponents this season. They are 0-4 on the road this season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers come in to this game losers of their last 4. Last Sunday they were defeated 22-17 at Cleveland. Quarterback Mike Glennon was 17 of 33 for 260 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Reserve running back Bobby Rainey, filling in for injured starter Doug Martin, had 19 carries for 87 yards. He also caught 1 ball for 34 yards. Rookie wide receiver Mike Evans had his best day as a pro as he caught 7 balls for 124 yards and 2 scores. Receiver Vincent Jackson had 6 catches for 86 yards. The Bucs’ defense sacked Browns QB Brian Hoyer 3 times and intercepted him twice. Tampa Bay out-gained Cleveland in total yards 365-330. The team was out-scored 13-7 in the 2nd half after having a 10-9 halftime lead. They have failed to score more than 17 points in 6 of their 8 games this season. On the season Glennon has started 6 games while completing 57.6% of his passes for 1,417 yards with 10 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Tampa Bay is 0-3 versus NFC South opponents this season. They are 0-4 at home this season.

Series History – In week 3 this season Atlanta crushed Tampa Bay 56-14. The team have split their pair of meetings in each of the last 3 regular seasons.

Prediction – Although I don’t think it will be quite the blow-out that it was in their first meeting this season the Falcons have the better overall talent and if they have any pride they should be pretty angry that they blew that 21 point lead in London.

Take the Falcons -2.5 (Bet365)
