Jacksonville Jaguars Analysis

The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Buffalo Bills in one of the ugliest playoff games in recent history. Their highly touted defense lived up to the hype, but their offense was underwhelming at best.

This week, they will play a team they embarrassed in their own home earlier this season and hope to achieve the same result.

Jacksonville’s defense might be up to the task of shutting down Pittsburgh’s offense again, but they will need a much better effort on offense, after B lake Bortles finished the game against Buffalo with 87 passing yards.

Leonard Fournette will also be trying to bounce back after finishing with 57 yards on 21 carries last week.

Defensively, the Jaguars will likely follow the same game plan they used the last time, which was to stop the run and put pressure on Ben Roethlisberger, who threw five interceptions in the game.

Even though it is unlikely that Roethlisberger will throw five interceptions again, they might be able to force him into a couple of mistakes their offense can capitalize on.

Pittsburgh Steelers Analysis

Last week, Ben Roethlisberger told reporters he wanted to face the Jaguars again, and now has his wish. However, he might regret the wish if he has a similar performance to what he had in the first meeting.

The good news for the Steelers and their fans is that the team will get wide receiver Antonio Brown back for the game. Brown, who led the league in receiving this season, hasn’t played since he injured his calf in week 15 against the New England Patriots.

The bad news is Brown played in the first meeting between the teams and couldn’t help his team get the win.

Blake Bortles will need to get rid of the ball faster than he ever had in his career because he is facing a Steelers team that had 56 sacks during the regular season, and they will be coming with a lot of pressure to throw him off his game.

If the pressure gets to Bortles, the Steelers will have a good chance to win this game because Bortles doesn’t perform well under pressure and will likely turn the ball over a few times.

Final Prediction

The Steelers have been waiting to redeem themselves after getting embarrassed at home, and I think they will pull it off. Take Pittsburgh -7.

Play: Steelers -7
