Europa League final preview and tips

Sevilla and Benfica meet in the final of the Europa League on Wednesday night.

Stephan MBia’s last minute goal helped Sevilla reach the final, eliminating their Spanish rivals Valencia on away goals in the process.

As for Benfica, they denied Juventus the chance to play the final in their own stadium, after progressing 2-1 on aggregate.

Benfica go into the match as favourites, with Jorge Jesus’s side amazingly just two games away from completing a quadruple!

Jesus will have do it without the suspended trio of Eduardo Salvio, Enzo Perez and Lazar Markovic though, with the latter two dismissed away to Juventus a fortnight ago.

Benfica will desperately miss the Serbian winger Lazar Markovic, before he was crazily sent off after being substituted in Turin a fortnight ago.

Miralem Sulejmani looks set to come in for Markovic, with Ljubomir Fejsa coming into central midfield.

Sevilla

Sevilla could name the same side that denied Valencia late on, with Marko Marin a possible replacement, should Unai Emery want to change the starting XI.

Amazing Sevilla defended the competition in 2007, having beat Middlesbrough in the 2006 final, whilst Benfica lost 2-1 to Chelsea in last seasons final and will want to right the wrongs of that game.

With Sevilla missing out on Champions League football and Benfica already securing the Portuguese title, both have been able to focus solely on Wednesday nights match in recent weeks.

The pair both lost domestically on the weekend, with Sevilla losing at Getafe, whilst Benfica lost their 28 match unbeaten streak to Porto.

Match betting
The Portuguese giants are rightly favourites for the game, although I expect it to be a close affair between the two sides, who deserve to be in the final.

Given their match odds of 13/10, even without three of their first team players, I suggest backing Benfica to edge the game by one goal.

Lima has been excellent for Benfica in the competition and back their leading goalscorer to do it again on Wednesday evening.

Best bet: Benfica by 1 goal @ 11/4 with Bet 365

Other bets: Lima anytime goalscorer; Benfica 2-1 or 1-0
