Boxing – Marco Huck vs Mirko Larghetti – Saturday August 30th

I was correct in my Austin Trout pick as he won by unanimous decision (despite being knocked down several times) versus Daniel Dawson last Friday night. This week I’m going back to boxing and taking a look at the Marco Huck vs Mirko Larghetti bout that’s taking place in Germany.

Marco Huck – His real name is Muamer Hukic. Nicknamed Kapt’n Huck he resides from Berlin, Germany. He’s 29 years old and is the current WBO Cruiserweight Champion. He stands 6’2″ tall with a 77 inch reach. In 40 professional fights he has a career record of 37 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw with 26 knockouts. He’s made 12 successful title defenses of his current title. He’s won his last 3 fights which includes a fight earlier this year on January 25th. In that fight he scored a technical knockout in the 6th round versus Firat Arslan. His last loss came on February 25th 2012 as he battled Alexander Povetkin for the WBA Heavyweight title.

Mirko Larghetti -Larghetti resides in Italy. He’s 31 years old and 6 feet tall. He has a career record of 21-0 with 13 knockouts. His last bout was a 2nd round knockout of Attila Palko on June 7th of this year. He’s recorded 6 knockouts in his last 10 fights. He’s currently ranked #12 by the WBO.

Prediction – Larghetti will be in hostile territory in Huck’s home country of Germany. I expect Huck to take this one rather easily as he’s a very consistent fighter that has only 1 loss since 2007. If he’s successful in defending his title it will tie the cruiserweight record of 13 held by Johnny Nelson.

Take Marco Huck -3300 (Bet365)
